Our Firefighters

Lone Peak Fire District is comprised of 18 full-time employees, and a pool of 25-35 part-time firefighters depending on vacancies. Our personnel are cross trained as firefighters and paramedics/advanced EMTs. The paramedic certification is the highest level of pre-hospital emergency medicine that can be obtained. We pride ourselves in our professionalism, dedication and service to our community.

Chief Patten

Lone Peak Fire Chief Brian Patten has served the Utah Fire Service for 24 years and was
appointed in June 2021 to lead the Lone Peak Fire District. Chief Patten, a firefighter's first Fire
Chief, believes firefighting is a team sport requiring everyone to do their part to succeed. Chief
Patten's priority is his firefighters' safety, health, and mental well-being. Chief Patten enjoys time
outdoors, hunting, fishing, hiking, and biking with his two children and son-in-law.

Chief Beck

Jake Beck is the Deputy Chief at Lone Peak Fire District. He oversees all fire and medical response. He also provides direct supervision to the fire district's six fire captains. Jake has been employed at the the fire district since August 2021 and has been in the fire service since 1998. When he is not at work, you an find him attending his children's sports games (Go Skyridge!) or if he is really lucky, skiing! He considers himself a lifelong learner and is an avid reader, podcast listener, and student. Jake holds a Bachelor's degree in Fire Administration.

Captain Hodson

Brian Hodson

Captain Bangerter

Jameson Bangerter was born in Jacksonville, Arkansas, and grew up in a military family, experiencing life in various parts of the country before settling in Utah in 2008. With a decade-long commitment to Lone Peak, he plays the role in overseeing the technical rescue aspects of the fire department. Outside of his professional responsibilities, Jameson finds joy in camping, hiking, hunting, and cherishing moments with his wife and children, consisting of one daughter and two sons.

Captain Campbell

Danny Campbell is a Captain for Lone Peak and has worked there for 15 years. He especially enjoys responding on technical calls in American Fork Canyon. He is married and has 4 kids. When not at work, he enjoys time in the mountains either snow skiing, waterskiing, and mountain biking.

Captain Pollock

John Pollock has been in the fire service for 9 years. He is currently the training officer for fire and serves as an instructor in ALLPS for the recruit academy and multi agency trainings. He spends time outdoors and enjoys hunting and fishing, and loves quality time with his family.

Captain Mitchell

Dustin Mitchell was born and raised in American Fork on an apple farm. He worked full time for Highland City's water department for a few years before starting with Lone Peak in 2008 and graduating paramedic school in 2010. He married his wife in 2006 and is now a girl dad times 5! His hobbies include all things outdoors; hunting, fishing, and camping with his family.
Job responsibilities include department IT, uniforms, PPE and Comms.

The Lone Peak Fire District proudly protects 30,000 people living in the communities of Alpine and Highland. We also provide fire and emergency medical services to American Fork Canyon and other unincorporated pockets of Utah County. In total, our service area spans 119.5 square miles. Two fire stations are staffed 24 hours a day. Each station is strategically located within the cities we serve.
